Cagliari Airport Terminals

Renowned by its modern, spacious and functional structure, the terminal can comfortably accommodate over 4 million passengers per year according to the ICAO standards B class, combining the distinctive features of the major international airports with the familiarity and comfort of medium size airports.

From an architectural point of view, the terminal building blends in perfectly with the surrounding environment reflecting the local landscape’s colors on both its large glass surfaces and its metallic cover. The use of white limestone, typical of the local constructions, confers to the terminal building a familiar appearance to those who know Cagliari’s buildings and monuments, and as a result offers a first taste of the city to the arriving passengers.

The profusion of the glass surfaces create great luminosity and comfort to the terminal, allowing an external view on aircrafts, gardens, salt marshes and the sky-line of Cagliari. Inside, the soft colors of stones, steel and other materials reflect the typical colors of the island creating a comfortable environment

The building is structured on 3 levels:

The first level

The first level (ground floor) is dedicated to the Arrivals Area. The Baggage reclaim hall and the airlines’ lost & found offices, reachable through modern air-conditioned loading bridges, are located in a restricted area where only passengers and staff have access.
On the same level, in the International Arrivals Area, Police, Customs and Guardia di Finanza offices are located.

The common Area offers several airport and business services including: post office, ATM and a first-aid station. People awaiting passengers and passengers themselves can find refreshments at the coffee bar and ice cream parlour. For those interested in tourist and local information courteous and efficient info point is available. The car rental companies are located in a new building just outside the terminal, next to the Multistorey car park.

The second level

The Departures Area on the second level (first floor) is also accessible by car by means of an external ramp.

• The area has 42 Check-in desks, 2 VIP Lounges and a “Sala Amica” dedicated to passengers with reduced mobility in need of assistance.
• Airline ticket counters, snack bars, shops, an exhibition gallery and a chapel are located in the same area.
• Beyond the security controls is the Boarding area.
• This area offers all the necessary services to passengers waiting to board including shops and a coffee shop with a panoramic view of the runway.
• There is also a WiFi internet access point.

The third level
The airlines and the governmental organisations’ offices as well as the restaurant and its terrace are located on the third level of the terminal.
